Pottery Course
In today’s era of widespread AI adoption, we aim to enhance Hong Kong students’ all-round development in multi-dimensional abilities and boost their competitiveness in various aspects. We now offer a range of pottery courses, including on-campus pottery courses and regular pottery courses.
About our Pottery Course
Tailored as an immersive art experience, this course is centered on the core concept of "integrating hands-on practice with intellectual thinking, and uniting knowledge with action". It deeply combines pottery creation with local educational needs, helping students achieve comprehensive improvement in multi-dimensional abilities.
Hands-on Skills
The course starts with clay kneading, guiding students to learn various techniques such as wheel throwing, shaping, trimming, glazing, and other pottery processes. Students gradually master the properties of clay materials—from basic clay shaping to intricate pattern carving. Each step hones their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination, while fostering a patient and meticulous approach to tasks.
Communication & Collaboration
Whether exchanging ideas during group-themed creation or expressing thoughts in the work-sharing session, students can enhance their expressive abilities through listening to suggestions and explaining their creative concepts. This interactive process strengthens their sense of teamwork and teaches them to refine their creations through communication.
3D Spatial Thinking Development
The cultivation of 3D spatial thinking is one of the highlights of the course. Pottery creation produces three-dimensional works, requiring students to consider spatial structure, proportional relationships, and modeling layers. From design sketches to 3D shaping, students gradually build spatial imagination and logical thinking, laying a solid foundation for subjects such as mathematics and design.
Historical & Cultural Inheritance
This is the unique core of the course. The curriculum integrates knowledge of traditional Chinese pottery history, allowing students to understand the historical and humanistic connotations behind pottery while creating. This enhances their acquisition of ceramic history and culture.
Artistic Literacy Enhancement
The course guides students to observe nature and capture aesthetic elements in daily life. Through color matching and modeling design, students unleash their creative talents. They not only learn to appreciate the artistic value of pottery works but also develop aesthetic vision and innovative thinking during creation, ultimately gaining unique artistic achievements of their own.
The entire course is taught by experienced pottery instructors. The content and difficulty level can be flexibly adjusted according to the school’s teaching plan and students’ age characteristics, ensuring every student can experience the charm of pottery in a safe and engaging environment, achieving dual improvement in abilities and literacy.
